1919 An Act relative to retirement benefits.
2020 Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purposes, which are
2121 to authorize certain retirement benefits, therefore it is immediately necessary to carry out the
2222 important public purposes, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for
2323 the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
2424 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2525 of the same, as follows:
2626 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding sections 65C and 65D of chapter 32 of the General Laws,
2727 2or any other general or special law to the contrary, Mary McCabe, associate justice of the
2828 3Haverhill district court, may name her daughter Anna McCabe as her survivor beneficiary, in
2929 4lieu of a spouse.
3030 5 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect as of October 29, 2023.
