29 | 29 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
30 | 30 | | of the same, as follows: |
---|
31 | 31 | | 1 SECTION 1. Paragraph (j) of section 89 of Chapter 71, of the General Laws, as |
---|
32 | 32 | | 2appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended, in line 296, by inserting after the |
---|
33 | 33 | | 3word “criteria” the following new text -; provided, that no charter application shall be approved |
---|
34 | 34 | | 4before a report has been presented to the board by the department on the financial impact to the |
---|
35 | 35 | | 5sending district or districts. |
---|
36 | 36 | | 6 SECTION 2. Paragraph (gg) of said section 89, as so appearing, is hereby amended, in |
---|
37 | 37 | | 7line 757, by inserting at the end thereof the following new text - Annually, not later than January |
---|
38 | 38 | | 810 the department shall make a request to the General Court for the full funding of this |
---|
39 | 39 | | 9reimbursement and the reimbursement calculated under paragraph (ff). If the General Court 2 of 2 |
---|
40 | 40 | | 10rejects the request to fund the reimbursement, the board shall not approve any application for a |
---|
41 | 41 | | 11new charter school or a charter school expansion in the following school year. |
---|
