2828 An Act providing for a universal basic income for youth aging out of foster care.
2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3030 of the same, as follows:
3131 1 Chapter 119 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 23B the
3232 2following section:-
3333 3 Section 23C. The department shall, subject to appropriation, provide a cash stipend of
3434 4$1,000 per month for 5 years to any individual formerly under the custody, care or responsibility
3535 5of the department, but have transitioned from the custody, care or responsibility of the
3636 6department upon reaching the age of 23.
