| 31 | 31 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 177B of Chapter 149 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 |

| 32 | 32 | | 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “ambulance department” each |

| 33 | 33 | | 3time it appears, the following words:- or emergency responders. |

| 34 | 34 | | 4 SECTION 2. The first paragraph of said Section 177B of said Chapter 149, as so |

| 35 | 35 | | 5appearing, is hereby amended by striking the words "capacity as a volunteer member of a fire |

| 36 | 36 | | 6department or ambulance department" in lines 5 and 6 and inserting in place thereof the |

| 37 | 37 | | 7following words:- "work at an emergency shelter, or his capacity as a volunteer member of a fire |
