vote of the town) for legislation to amend section 5 of chapter 270 of the Acts of 1985, as 
amended, to authorize delegation by general by-law of all select board licensing authority.

An Act expanding the powers of the town of Brookline to delegate licensing authority.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Chapter 270 of the acts of 1985 is hereby amended by striking out section 5 
2and inserting in place thereof the following section:-
3 Section 5. Notwithstanding chapters 138, 140 or 148 of the General Laws or any other 
4general or special law to the contrary, the town may, through its by-laws, delegate any licensing 
5authority.
6 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
