2626 An Act enabling trained dental hygienists to administer dermal fillers and botox.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 Section 51 of chapter 112 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition,
3030 2is hereby amended by inserting after the first instance of the words “adopted by the board,” the
3131 3following:-
3232 4 “A dental hygienist, under the direct supervision of a supervising dentist, may administer
3333 5botulinum toxins and or dermal fillers, provided they have received the same prescribed
3434 6additional training in the administration of botulinum toxins and or dermal fillers as that of a
3535 7dentist and approved by the board. A dental hygienist shall not administer botulinum toxins and
3636 8or dermal fillers independently of a dentist.”
