| 26 | 26 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 1 Chapter 6, Section 116 of the general laws is hereby amended by adding the following |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 2new section:- |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 3 Section 116K. The municipal police training committee shall, not less than annually, |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 4assess the workforce status of policing in the commonwealth, with regard to its adequacy, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 5diversity, and equity, and shall make recommendations for actions necessary for the recruitment |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 6and retention of law enforcement officers to meet these goals. The results of said assessment, |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 7together with such recommendations, shall be filed with the executive office of public safety and |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 8homeland security, the joint committee on public safety and homeland security, the House and |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 9Senate Committees on Ways and Means, and the clerks of the House and Senate, whom shall |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 10post them electronically for public inspection, not later than December 31. |
