2525 An Act to support police recruitment and retention.
2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2727 of the same, as follows:
2828 1 Chapter 6, Section 116 of the general laws is hereby amended by adding the following
2929 2new section:-
3030 3 Section 116K. The municipal police training committee shall, not less than annually,
3131 4assess the workforce status of policing in the commonwealth, with regard to its adequacy,
3232 5diversity, and equity, and shall make recommendations for actions necessary for the recruitment
3333 6and retention of law enforcement officers to meet these goals. The results of said assessment,
3434 7together with such recommendations, shall be filed with the executive office of public safety and
3535 8homeland security, the joint committee on public safety and homeland security, the House and
3636 9Senate Committees on Ways and Means, and the clerks of the House and Senate, whom shall
3737 10post them electronically for public inspection, not later than December 31.
