An Act relative to responsible corporate investments.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Massachusetts General Law Chapter 32 is hereby amended by adding a new section:
2 "Section 106. The state employees retirement system, the teachers retirement system, and 
3all county, city and town contributions retirement systems shall not invest, or otherwise 
4contribute funds, directly or indirectly, to an investment vehicle or fund controlled or managed 
5by a financial institution or investment company, if that financial institution or investment 
6company is headquartered, or, in the case of a non-publicly traded company, whose officers or 
7principals reside in a state- which by executive or legislative action- has prohibited its state 
8treasurer, retirement systems, or public pension funds from investing, with a financial institution 
9or investment company because that financial institution or investment company utilizes 
10environmental. social, and corporate (ESG) policies."
