| 31 | 31 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 1 Section 2 of Chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 2hereby amended by inserting, after line 523, the following paragraph:- |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 3 The registrar shall furnish without charge to owners of private passenger motor vehicles |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 4who are veterans who participated in the early testing of atomic weapons, upon presentation of |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 5satisfactory evidence of such status as determined by the registrar, distinctive registration plates |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 6for one private passenger motor vehicle owned and principally used by such veteran or a |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 7distinctive emblem to be affixed to a "VETERAN" registration plate for a motorcycle owned and |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | 8principally used by such veteran. The surviving spouse of a deceased veteran under this |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | 9paragraph may elect to retain the distinctive registration plates or emblem for personal use upon 2 of 2 |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | 10payment of the established registration fee for private passenger motor vehicles or motorcycles |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | 11and an additional $20 fee until such time as the spouse remarries, fails to renew or cancels the |
|---|
