2929 An Act updating gateway municipalities.
3030 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3131 of the same, as follows:
3232 1 Chapter 23A of the General Laws is hereby amended in Section 3A by striking out-
3333 2 "Gateway municipality'', a municipality with a population greater than 35,000 and less
3434 3than 250,000, a median household income below the commonwealth's average and a rate of
3535 4educational attainment of a bachelor's degree or above that is below the commonwealth's
3636 5average.
3737 6 and inserting the following-
3838 7 "Gateway municipality'', a municipality with a population greater than 35,000 and less
3939 8than 250,000, or two or more municipalities forming an inter-municipal agreement for this
4040 9purpose with a combined population greater than 35,000 and less than 250,000, a median 2 of 2
4141 10household income below the commonwealth's average and a rate of educational attainment of a
4242 11bachelor's degree or above that is below the commonwealth's average.
