2828 An Act relative to reservists with service-connected disabilities.
2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3030 of the same, as follows:
3131 1 SECTION 1. Section 6A of chapter 115 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020
3232 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-
3333 3 As used in this section and in sections 6B and 6C of this chapter, the term “reservist''
3434 4shall mean a person who has served not less than 180 days in the Marine, Army, Air Force or
3535 5Coast Guard reserves and who is a resident of the commonwealth.
3636 6 SECTION 2. Section 6B of said chapter 115, as so appearing, is hereby amended by
3737 7inserting after the second paragraph the following paragraph:-
3838 8 A reservist who has suffered a service-connected disability shall be paid $2,000 annually
3939 9in 2 equal payments on August 1 and February 1. The parents and surviving spouse, provided 2 of 2
4040 10that surviving spouse does not remarry, of a reservist who suffered a service-connected death
4141 11shall be paid $2,000 annually in 2 equal payments on August 1 and February 1.
4242 12 SECTION 3. Section 6C of said chapter 115, as so appearing, is hereby amended by
4343 13striking out, in lines 5 and 6, the words “six B” and inserting in place thereof the following
4444 14words:- 6B, or the reservist has suffered a service-connected disability under said section 6B.
