An Act relative to the appointment of special police officers in the city of Newton.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 96 of the acts of 2014, as amended by chapter 266 of
2the acts of 2016, is hereby amended by striking out the figure “70” and inserting in place thereof
3the following figure:- “75”.
4 SECTION 2. Said section 1 of said chapter 96 of the acts of 2014, as amended by said
5chapter 266 of the acts of 2016, is hereby further amended by inserting after the words “Prior to
6appointment under this act” the following:- “, and annually thereafter unless required more often
7by the police chief”.
8 SECTION 3. Section 2 of said chapter 96 of the acts of 2014, as amended by said chapter
9266 of the acts of 2016, is hereby amended by striking out the words “41, chapter 150E or
10chapter 151A of the General Laws” and inserting in place thereof the following:- “41 or chapter
11150E of the General Laws”. 2 of 2
12 SECTION 4. Section 8 of said chapter 96 of the acts of 2014, as amended by said chapter
13266 of the acts of 2016, is hereby amended by striking out the figure “70” and inserting in place
14thereof the following figure:- “75”.
