| 23 | 23 | | Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | establish forthwith a sick leave bank for a certain employee of the Department of Children and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Families, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | preservation of the public convenience. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 1 Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Department of Children |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 2and Families shall establish a sick leave bank for Jody Ricketson, an employee of the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 3department. Any employee of the department may voluntarily contribute 1 or more sick, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 4personal, or vacation days to the sick leave bank for use by Jody Ricketson. Whenever Jody |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 5Ricketson terminates employment with the department or requests to dissolve the sick leave |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 6bank, any remaining time in the sick leave bank shall be transferred to the extended illness leave |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 7bank. Sick leave bank days shall not be used for absences unrelated to the illness or disability |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 8that necessitated the establishment of the sick leave bank as determined by the department. |
