29 | 29 | | Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to |
---|
30 | 30 | | establish forthwith a sick leave bank for a certain employee of the Suffolk County Sheriff's |
---|
31 | 31 | | Department, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate |
---|
32 | 32 | | preservation of the public convenience. |
---|
33 | 33 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
34 | 34 | | of the same, as follows: |
---|
35 | 35 | | 1 Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s |
---|
36 | 36 | | 2Department shall establish a sick leave bank for William J. Torres, an employee of the |
---|
37 | 37 | | 3Department. Any employee of the department may voluntarily contribute 1 or more sick, |
---|
38 | 38 | | 4personal or vacation days to the sick leave bank for use by William J. Torres. If William J. |
---|
39 | 39 | | 5Torres terminates employment with the department or requests to dissolve the sick leave bank, |
---|
40 | 40 | | 6any remaining time in the sick leave bank shall be transferred to the extended illness leave bank. |
---|
41 | 41 | | 7Sick leave bank days shall not be used for absences unrelated to the illness or disability that |
---|
42 | 42 | | 8necessitated the establishment of the sick leave bank as determined by the department. |
---|
