2727 An Act establishing a sick leave bank for William J. Torres, an employee of the Suffolk County
2828 Sheriff's Department.
2929 Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to
3030 establish forthwith a sick leave bank for a certain employee of the Suffolk County Sheriff's
3131 Department, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate
3232 preservation of the public convenience.
3333 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3434 of the same, as follows:
3535 1 Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s
3636 2Department shall establish a sick leave bank for William J. Torres, an employee of the
3737 3Department. Any employee of the department may voluntarily contribute 1 or more sick,
3838 4personal or vacation days to the sick leave bank for use by William J. Torres. If William J.
3939 5Torres terminates employment with the department or requests to dissolve the sick leave bank,
4040 6any remaining time in the sick leave bank shall be transferred to the extended illness leave bank.
4141 7Sick leave bank days shall not be used for absences unrelated to the illness or disability that
4242 8necessitated the establishment of the sick leave bank as determined by the department.
