2121 An Act relative to violation of regulation regarding hot work processes.
2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2323 of the same, as follows:
2424 1 Chapter 22 of the General Laws us hereby amended by adding the following section:-
2525 2 Section 23. The department of fire services in cooperation with the division of
2626 3occupational licensure and code enforcement officers authorized under chapter 148A, shall
2727 4collect data on written notices of code violations and fines arising from violations of, or non-
2828 5compliance with, chapter 148 or any rules or regulations issued under said chapter 148 including,
2929 6but not limited to: (i) the failure of an individual to maintain hot work training certification; (ii)
3030 7performing hot work without hot work training certification; and (iii) failure to comply with hot
3131 8work permit requirements.
3232 9 The department shall develop, operate and maintain a database containing the
3333 10information required to be collected under this section. The database shall: (i) be publicly
3434 11accessible on the department's website; and (ii) allow for an automated notification system to
3535 12alert affected property owners and insurance companies.
