| 26 | 26 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 28 | 28 | | 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 71 of the General Laws is amended by inserting after section 99 the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 2following section:- |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 3 Section 100. Computer Science Education |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 4 (a) Every public high school in the commonwealth shall offer at least one foundational |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 5computer science course and ensure that every student has the capacity to access such course |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 6within a four-year course of study. |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 7 (b) A foundational computer science course offered pursuant to this section shall include |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 8rigorous mathematical or scientific concepts and be consistent with standards adopted by the |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 9board of elementary and secondary education. |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 10 SECTION 2. Section 1 shall take effect for the school year beginning after July 1, 2025. |
