| 30 | 30 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, including the |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 2provisions of Chapter 43 of the Acts of 2007, the city of Boston Police Department shall waive |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 3the maximum age requirement for original appointment of police officer, Cherell Mellace. If |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 4Cherell Mellace meets all other requirements set forth by the Boston Police Department, he shall |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 5be eligible to have his name certified for original appointment to the position of police officer. |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 6 SECTION 2. The provisions of this act are severable and if any provision, or portion |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 7thereof, should be held to be unconstitutional or otherwise invalid by any court of competent |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 8jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect the remaining provisions, |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | 9which remain in full force and effect. |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | 10 SECTION 3.This act shall take effect upon its passage. |
