2626 An Act mandating the posting of identification requirements at polling places.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 Chapter 54 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 48A the
3030 2following section:-
3131 3 Section 48B. (a) The state secretary shall provide, in a form suitable for posting in every
3232 4polling place for every election, a summary of (1) the reasons a voter may be asked to show
3333 5identification when checking-in at their polling place and (2) the acceptable forms of
3434 6identification, pursuant to section 76B of chapter 54, 950 CMR 52, and 950 CMR 54, as they
3535 7may be amended from time to time. The state secretary shall also include said summary on the
3636 8electronic website of the state secretary.
3737 9 (b) Said summary shall be posted conspicuously and no smaller than 8.5 × 11 inches at
3838 10every polling place during every election.
