2626 An Act ban on fluoride supplementation of public water supplies.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 Strike the “by local boards; advice of commissioner; election; discontinuance” in the title
3030 2of Chapter 111 Section 8C
3131 3 Add “ban on community water fluoridation schemes” to the title, so that it reads as
3232 4follows:
3333 5 Fluoridation of public water supplies; ban on community water fluoridation schemes
3434 6 Replace text of existing law (Chapter 111, Section 8C) with the following text:
3535 7 Based on the robust body of science documenting ill effects from even low-dose fluoride
3636 8exposure for a significant portion of the population including pregnant women, bottle-fed babies,
3737 9young children, the elderly and many in fragile health; conflicting federal regulations regarding
3838 10the use of fluoridation chemicals; the questionable ethics of medicating a portion of the
3939 11population against their will including those with medical reason to avoid fluoride; and concerns 2 of 2
4040 12about the biomagnification of fluoridation chemicals and tramp contaminants in our
4141 13environment, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts bans the addition of any fluoride water
4242 14products to any and all public water supplies. Existing artificial fluoridation schemes targeting
4343 15municipal water supplies must be discontinued within ten (10) days of the ratification of this law.
