2626 An Act to provide additional funding for animal welfare and safety programming.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 SECTION 1. Section 35WW of chapter 10 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020
3030 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting in line 9 after the words “chapter 140” the
3131 3following words:- “or other measures to improve animal health and welfare as the commissioner
3232 4may determine, with majority support from the advisory committee established in chapter 193 of
3333 5the acts of 2012”.
3434 6 SECTION 2. Section 37 of chapter 129 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby
3535 7amended by inserting after the fourth sentence the following sentence:- “Such fines shall not
3636 8revert to the General Fund and shall instead be deposited in the Homeless Animal Prevention and
3737 9Care Fund, as established by section 35ww of chapter 10 of General Laws, and shall be available
3838 10for use in subsequent fiscal years.”.
