2525 An Act relative to funding clean water in nitrogen sensitive areas.
2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2727 of the same, as follows:
2828 1 Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, $185,000,000 shall be
2929 2transferred from the General Fund to the Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection fund,
3030 3established under section 19 of chapter 29C of the General Laws, for costs associated with
3131 4planning and implementing water pollution abatement projects for the purpose of complying
3232 5with title 5 of the state environmental code in any watershed designated as a nitrogen sensitive
3333 6area by the department of environmental protection; provided, that all funds allocated by this act
3434 7shall be distributed proportionally to municipalities according to the number of watersheds
3535 8designated as nitrogen sensitive areas within the borders of each municipality. Water pollution
3636 9abatement projects may include funding expended to support the community septic management
3737 10loan program to provide subsidies or loans to qualified borrowers.
