| 29 | 29 | | 1 SECTION 1: Chapter 21H of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official |

| 30 | 30 | | 2Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 7 the following section:- |

| 31 | 31 | | 3 Section 8. (a) The department shall maintain a program to provide for recycling of child |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 4passenger restraints, as defined in section 1 of chapter 90. |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 5 (b) The department shall be authorized to: (i) implement state, local, or regional child |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 6passenger restraint recycling programs; (ii) accept applications from municipalities for grants |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 7and to award grants to assist in the development or establishment of local and regional child |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 8passenger restraint recycling projects; and (iii) to partner or contract with private organizations to |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 9assist in the development or establishment of a child passenger restraint recycling program. |
