O'Connor for legislation to create a scholarship fund to increase the number of medical providers who are knowledgeable in autism. Higher Education. [SIMILAR MATTER FILED IN PREVIOUS SESSION SEE SENATE, NO. 853 OF 2021-2022.] The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act creating a scholarship fund to increase the number of medical providers who are knowledgeable in autism. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law, rule, or regulation to the 2contrary, there is hereby established a scholarship fund to increase the number of medical 3providers who are knowledgeable in autism. Individuals eligible for applying for the scholarship 4are students attending the university of Massachusetts medical school, state run/public nursing 5schools, and schools of state run/public dentistry schools who are either studying issues related 6to autism and/or plan to work with individuals with autism upon graduation. Three scholarships 7total will be awarded annually: one to a student attending the university of Massachusetts 8medical school, one attending a state run/public nursing program, and one attending a state 9run/public dentistry school.
