2626 An Act relative to childless individuals with chronic disabilities experiencing homelessness.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 SECTION 1. Section 30 of chapter 23B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018
3030 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the words "no other children" in line 3 the
3131 3following words:-
3232 4 ",and individuals with disabilities as defined by chapter 179 of the acts of 1995 who
3333 5require home care, caretaker services, and constant stay and housing, and the elderly".
3434 6 SECTION 2. Section 30 of chapter 23B is further amended after subsection (F) by adding
3535 7the following subsection:-
3636 8 "(G) The department shall provide shelter in the form of a hotel or motel to an individual
3737 9with a disability as defined by chapter 179 of the acts of 1995 who requires home care, caretaker
3838 10services, and constant stay and housing and who requires a reasonable accommodation which
3939 11cannot be provided at overnight shelters."
