|---|
| 31 | 31 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 32 | 32 | | 1 SECTION 1. There shall be established a special legislative commission to study the use |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 2of intermittent variable rewards and other strategies by social media platforms. The |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 3commission’s study shall include, but not be limited to, the use of intermittent variable rewards |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 4as a psychologically manipulative tool to prolong adolescent users’ time spent on social media |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 5platforms. |

| 37 | 37 | | 6 SECTION 2. The commission shall consist of: the chairs of the joint committee on the |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 7judiciary, who shall serve as co-chairs, ; 1 member appointed by the speaker of the house of |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 8representatives; 1 member appointed by the president of the senate;1 member appointed by the |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | 9minority leader of the house of representatives; 1 member appointed by the minority leader of |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | 10the senate; the commissioner of mental health or their designee, the secretary of public health or |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | 11their designee, and the attorney general or their designee. 2 of 2 |

| 43 | 43 | | 12 SECTION 3. The commission shall submit its report, along with any recommendations, |
