| 28 | 28 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 1 SECTION 1. The executive office of the trial court shall conduct a study on all of the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 2courts located in Barnstable county, Nantucket county and the county of Dukes County, which |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 3shall include: (i) in consultation with the division of capital asset management and maintenance, |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 4the status of all buildings, including general upkeep and their compliance with the federal |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 5Americans with Disabilities Act and the Massachusetts victims’ bill of rights, established |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 6pursuant to section 3 of chapter 258B of the General Laws; and (ii) staffing levels of all |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 7departments, including clerks offices, facilities, court officers, interpreter services, support staff |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 8and judges, taking into consideration caseloads in comparison to courts located elsewhere in the |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 9commonwealth. |

| 39 | 39 | | 10 SECTION 2. Not later than 1 year following the passage of this act, the executive office |

| 40 | 40 | | 11of the trial court shall submit a report to the clerks of the house of representatives and the senate 2 of 2 |

| 41 | 41 | | 12and the joint committee on the judiciary, with the results of the study conducted pursuant to |
