30 | 30 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
31 | 31 | | of the same, as follows: |
---|
32 | 32 | | 1 Chapter 143 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 100 the |
---|
33 | 33 | | 2following section:- |
---|
34 | 34 | | 3 Section 101. (a) All public buildings shall install and maintain at least one private or |
---|
35 | 35 | | 4semi-private baby diaper changing station accessible to any caretaker regardless of their sex, |
---|
36 | 36 | | 5gender, or disability. All places of public accommodation, resort or amusement, as defined in |
---|
37 | 37 | | 6section 92A of chapter 272, that provide a public bathroom shall install and maintain at least one |
---|
38 | 38 | | 7private or semi-private baby diaper changing station accessible to any caretaker regardless of |
---|
39 | 39 | | 8their sex, gender, or disability. 2 of 2 |

40 | 40 | | 9 (b) Signage indicating the location of any baby diaper changing station shall be posted at |
---|
41 | 41 | | 10or near the entrance of a building or place of public accommodation and at or near any station. If |
---|
42 | 42 | | 11there is a central directory identifying, for the benefit of the public, the location of offices, |
---|
43 | 43 | | 12restrooms, and other facilities in the building or public accommodation, that central directory |
---|
44 | 44 | | 13shall indicate the location of any baby diaper changing stations. |
---|
45 | 45 | | 14 (c) This section applies to: (1) all public buildings; (2) public accommodations |
---|
46 | 46 | | 15constructed on or after the effective date of this section; and (3) public accommodations existing |
---|
47 | 47 | | 16on or after the effective date of this section which undergo substantial renovation or remodeling. |
---|
48 | 48 | | 17This section shall not apply to public accommodations that are generally restricted in age to |
---|
49 | 49 | | 18those of 13 years or more. |
---|
50 | 50 | | 19 (d) The provisions of this section shall be implemented in compliance with local, state, |
---|
51 | 51 | | 20and federal laws regarding access for persons with disabilities, and with existing fire, health, and |
---|
52 | 52 | | 21safety standards. |
