2626 An Act relative to guidelines for MBTA communities.
2727 Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to
2828 amend a deadline that has already since passed, therefore it is hereby declared to be an
2929 emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
3030 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3131 of the same, as follows:
3232 1 SECTION 1. Section 3A of chapter 40A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022
3333 2Official Edition, is hereby amended in subsection (b) by adding at the end thereof the following:
3434 3 No additional discretionary grant programs may take compliance with G.L. c 40A, ยง3A
3535 4into consideration when making grant awards.
3636 5 SECTION 2. Said Section 3A is hereby further amended by striking out subsection (c)
3737 6and inserting in place thereof the following:
3838 7 (c) Any new or revised guidelines promulgated by the department of housing and
3939 8community development determining if an MBTA community is in compliance with this section
4040 9shall not take effect earlier than December 31, 2028. 2 of 2
4141 10 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect immediately upon passage.
