| 27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 29 | 29 | | 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 34 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 2section 3, the following section: |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 3 Section 3B. A public building, under the direct supervision of the Norfolk County |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 4Commissioners, shall have on the premises at least 1 automatic external defibrillator (AED), |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 5subject to the provisions of section 12V½ of chapter 112, and shall have in attendance during |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 6staffed business hours at least 1 employee or authorized volunteer as an AED provider, as |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 7defined in section 12V½ of chapter 112. |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 8 The Norfolk County Commissioners shall ensure the functionality and quantity of AEDs |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 9in each public building under their direct supervision. |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 10 Any person, whose usual and regular duties do not include the provision of emergency |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 11medical care, and who, in good faith, attempts to render emergency care, including but not |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | 12limited to, cardiopulmonary resuscitation or defibrillation, and does so without compensation, 2 of 2 |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | 13shall not be liable for acts or omissions, other than gross negligence or willful or wanton |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | 14misconduct, resulting from the attempt to render such emergency care. |
