The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court (2025-2026) _______________ An Act relative to health care worker and first responder safety. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Section 70F of chapter 111 of the General Laws is hereby amended by 2adding, after line 11, the following paragraph:- 3 Notwithstanding the above, if a healthcare provider, first responder, police officer, fire 4official, prison guard, or other public officer in the line of duty comes in contact with the blood 5or bodily fluid of a patient or person who may be infected, such tests may be performed and the 6result made known to the person who may have been infected despite the inability or refusal of 7the patient or person to give written consent.
