| 28 | 28 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 70F of chapter 111 of the General Laws is hereby amended by |

| 29 | 29 | | 2adding, after line 11, the following paragraph:- |

| 30 | 30 | | 3 Notwithstanding the above, if a healthcare provider, first responder, police officer, fire |

| 31 | 31 | | 4official, prison guard, or other public officer in the line of duty comes in contact with the blood |

| 32 | 32 | | 5or bodily fluid of a patient or person who may be infected, such tests may be performed and the |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 6result made known to the person who may have been infected despite the inability or refusal of |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 7the patient or person to give written consent. |
