29	29	Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
30	30	of the same, as follows:
31	31	1 In order to promote uniformity and effectiveness statewide, be it enacted by the Senate
32	32	2and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as
33	33	3follows:
34	34	4 SECTION 1. Section 168A of chapter 6 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022
35	35	5Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 21, the words “departments of
36	36	6probation” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- Massachusetts Probation Service,
37	37	7the departments of. 2 of 10
38	38	8 SECTION 2. Section 172 of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby amended by
39	39	9striking out, in lines 236-237, the words “office of the commissioner of probation” and inserting
40	40	10in place thereof the following words:- Massachusetts Probation Service.
41	41	11 SECTION 3. Section 175 of said chapter 6, as so appearing, is hereby amended by
