29 | 29 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
30 | 30 | | of the same, as follows: |

31 | 31 | | 1 SECTION 1. Definitions |
---|
32 | 32 | | 2 For the purpose of this section the following words shall have the following meanings:- |
---|
33 | 33 | | 3 "Public Safety Dispatchers” or “Public Safety Telecommunicators", an individual |
---|
34 | 34 | | 4employed by a public safety agency, as the initial first responder, whose primary responsibility is |
---|
35 | 35 | | 5to receive, process, transmit, or dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls for law |
---|
36 | 36 | | 6enforcement, fire, emergency medical, and other public safety services by telephone, radio, or |
---|
37 | 37 | | 7other communication device, and includes an individual who promotes from this position and |
---|
38 | 38 | | 8supervises individuals who perform these functions. 2 of 2 |

39 | 39 | | 9 SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any general or special law or rule or regulation to the |
---|
40 | 40 | | 10contrary, all Public Safety Dispatchers or Public Safety Telecommunicators shall receive the |
---|
41 | 41 | | 11same internal benefits as First Responders. |
---|
42 | 42 | | 12 SECTION 3. No change shall be made to such Telecommunicators' compensation and |
---|
43 | 43 | | 13pension benefits. |
