Michael S. Day and Jason M. Lewis (by vote of the town) that town of Stoneham police 
department be authorized to waive the maximum age requirement for original appointment of 
police officers in said town. Public Service.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act enhancing public safety in the town of Stoneham.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Town of 
2Stoneham Police Department shall be permitted to waive the maximum age requirement for 
3original appointment of police officers in the Town of Stoneham; provided, however, said 
4officer-candidates for appointment meet all other requirements set forth by the Stoneham Police 
5Department for original appointment to the position of police officer.
6 Section 2. The provisions of this act shall take effect immediately upon passage.
