2828 An Act establishing a credible service commission.
2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3030 of the same, as follows:
3131 1 SECTION 1. There shall be established a special legislative commission to study the
3232 2costs and feasibility of allowing time served as an emergency medical technician, call firefighter,
3333 3and police dispatcher to count for creditable service.
3434 4 SECTION 2. The commission shall consist of: the chairs of the joint committee on public
3535 5service, who shall serve as co-chairs of the commission; 1 member appointed by the speaker of
3636 6the house of representatives; 1 member appointed by the president of the senate;1 member
3737 7appointed by the minority leader of the house of representatives; 1 member appointed by the
3838 8minority leader of the senate; the secretary of administration and finance or their designee; the
3939 9president of the fire chiefs association of Massachusetts or their designee; and the president of
4040 10the police chiefs association of Massachusetts or their designee. 2 of 2
4141 11 SECTION 3. The commission shall submit its report, along with any recommendations,
4242 12to the clerks of the house of representatives and the senate no later than 1 year after the passage
4343 13of this act.
4444 14 SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
