| 27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 29 | 29 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 2 of chapter 18A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2024 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “committed ”, in line XX, the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 3following sentence:- |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 4 Physical health and mental health services shall meet or exceed current pediatric |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 5community level standards of care as set by the American Academy of Pediatrics, which shall |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 6include, but not limited to, preventative health care, health promotion, and continuity of care. |

| 35 | 35 | | 7 SECTION 2. Section 6 of said chapter 18A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2024 |

| 36 | 36 | | 8Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the words “counselor programs ”, in line |

| 37 | 37 | | 9XX, the following sentence:- |

| 38 | 38 | | 10 It shall further be responsible for monitoring and enforcement of medical contracts to |

| 39 | 39 | | 11improve medical care access and quality for children in the care and custody of the department. |
