2626 An Act relative to health care quality for children and youth.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 SECTION 1. Section 2 of chapter 18A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2024
3030 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “committed ”, in line XX, the
3131 3following sentence:-
3232 4 Physical health and mental health services shall meet or exceed current pediatric
3333 5community level standards of care as set by the American Academy of Pediatrics, which shall
3434 6include, but not limited to, preventative health care, health promotion, and continuity of care.
3535 7 SECTION 2. Section 6 of said chapter 18A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2024
3636 8Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the words “counselor programs ”, in line
3737 9XX, the following sentence:-
3838 10 It shall further be responsible for monitoring and enforcement of medical contracts to
3939 11improve medical care access and quality for children in the care and custody of the department.
