| 29 | 29 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 31 | 31 | | 1 (a) Notwithstanding section 12 of chapter 32 of the General Laws or any other general or |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 2special law to the contrary, the Massachusetts State Retirement Board shall provide to Carrie |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 3Duff, the surviving beneficiary of former Massachusetts Department of Corrections employee |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 4William Manduca, a lifetime, monthly allowance equal to the amount she would receive as if |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 5William Manduca had, upon retirement, elected option (d) of subdivision (2) of said section 12 |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 6of said chapter 32 and nominated Carrie Duff as his sole surviving eligible beneficiary. The |

| 37 | 37 | | 7allowance shall be payable as of the date of William Manduca’s death. |
