2727 An Act relative to pension parity.
2828 Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to
2929 ensure all employees of the Commonwealth are given the proper pension in which they earned,
3030 therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation
3131 of the public peace.
3232 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3333 of the same, as follows:
3434 1 SECTION 1. Paragraph (f) of subdivision 2 of section 5 of chapter 32 of the general laws,
3535 2as appearing in the 2018 official edition, is hereby amended in line 211 by adding after the word
3636 3“law,” the following: “arises for a member otherwise subject to this paragraph where the member
3737 4has a final separate period of creditable service of thirty-six consecutive months or sixty
3838 5consecutive months, and which period was last immediately preceded by a period of creditable
3939 6service that concluded more than twenty years prior to the start of the final period of creditable
4040 7service,”. 2 of 2
4141 8 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2021.
