2828 An Act relative to certain retirement benefits for the surviving spouse of a state police officer
2929 injured in the line of duty.
3030 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3131 of the same, as follows:
3232 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding and general or special law to the contrary, Felicia
3333 2O’Connor, the surviving spouse of John Bernard O’Connor, a retired state police officer, who is
3434 3currently receiving a surviving spouse retirement allowance, shall be entitled to a recalculated
3535 4surviving spouse retirement allowance. The recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance
3636 5shall be equal to that which she would have received had John Bernard O’Connor been allowed
3737 6to elect the Option C retirement allowance prior to his death.
3838 7 SECTION 2. The amount of the recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance in
3939 8section 1 shall apply retroactively to the date of death of John Bernard O’Connor.
