2929 An Act to provide public safety telecommunicators with the same internal benefits as first
3030 responders.
3131 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3232 of the same, as follows:
3333 1 Notwithstanding any general or special law or rule or regulation to the contrary, all
3434 2Public Safety Dispatchers or Public Safety Telecommunicators shall receive the same internal
3535 3benefits as First Responders. For the purpose of this paragraph, " Public Safety Dispatchers or
3636 4Public Safety Telecommunicators" means an individual employed by a public safety agency, as
3737 5the initial first responder, whose primary responsibility is to receive, process, transmit, or
3838 6dispatch emergency and nonemergency calls for law enforcement, fire, emergency medical, and
3939 7other public safety services by telephone, radio, or other communication device, and includes an
4040 8individual who promotes from this position and supervises individuals who perform these
4141 9functions. No change shall be made to such Telecommunicators' compensation and pension
4242 10benefits.
