2929 An Act relative to certain employees of the MBTA advisory board.
3030 Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to
3131 establish forthwith retirement benefits to persons whose regular compensation is paid by
3232 Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority advisory board, therefore it is hereby declared to be
3333 an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
3434 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3535 of the same, as follows:
3636 1 SECTION 1. The definition of “Employee” in section 1 of chapter 32 of the General
3737 2Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following
3838 3sentence:- ''Employee'', as applied to persons whose regular compensation is paid by the advisory
3939 4board to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority established in chapter 161A, shall
4040 5mean any person who is engaged in duties which require that the person’s time be devoted to the
4141 6service of said advisory board in each year during the ordinary working hours of regular and
4242 7permanent employees . 2 of 2
4343 8 SECTION 2. Said section 1 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further
4444 9amended by inserting after word “system”, in line 344, the following words:- , the advisory
4545 10board to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority as established in chapter 161A.
4646 11 SECTION 3. Said section 1 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further
4747 12amended by inserting after word “District”, in line 390, the following words:- , the advisory
4848 13board to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority as established in chapter 161A.
4949 14 SECTION 4. Section 2 of chapter 32A of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby
