30 | 30 | | Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to |

31 | 31 | | establish forthwith retirement benefits to persons whose regular compensation is paid by |

32 | 32 | | Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority advisory board, therefore it is hereby declared to be |

33 | 33 | | an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience. |

34 | 34 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |

35 | 35 | | of the same, as follows: |

36 | 36 | | 1 SECTION 1. The definition of “Employee” in section 1 of chapter 32 of the General |

37 | 37 | | 2Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following |

38 | 38 | | 3sentence:- ''Employee'', as applied to persons whose regular compensation is paid by the advisory |
---|
39 | 39 | | 4board to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority established in chapter 161A, shall |
---|
40 | 40 | | 5mean any person who is engaged in duties which require that the person’s time be devoted to the |
---|
41 | 41 | | 6service of said advisory board in each year during the ordinary working hours of regular and |
---|
42 | 42 | | 7permanent employees . 2 of 2 |
