| 28 | 28 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 30 | 30 | | 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 64D of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 2Section 1 the following section:- |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 3 Section 1A. (a) Notwithstanding any other general or special law to the contrary, the |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 4counties of Bristol, Dukes, Nantucket, Norfolk and Plymouth shall retain 20 per cent of all deeds |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 5excise receipts received on or after July 1, 2025, in addition to the amounts of deeds excise |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 6receipts retained by said counties pursuant to any other statute or regulation. Such funds shall be |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 7deposited to the General Fund of the county, and shall be disbursed and expended for meeting |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 8the costs of the operation and maintenance of the county, or retained by the county for such |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 9future use. 2 of 2 |

| 39 | 39 | | 10 (b) Notwithstanding any other general or special law to the contrary, the county of |

| 40 | 40 | | 11Barnstable shall retain 7.5 per cent of all deeds excise receipts received pursuant to this chapter |
