An Act relative to expedited referrals by legislators.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Chapter 6 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-
2 Section 219. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, a state agency 
3shall disclose to a state legislator or an authorized staff person of a state legislator, who is 
4reaching out to the agency on behalf of a constituent, personal information about the constituent 
5to the extent necessary for 	the state legislator or authorized staff person to provide assistance on 
6the behalf of the constituent; provided, however, that the state agency shall not require an 
7authorization for release of information from the constituent or state legislator unless otherwise 
8required by federal law.
