| 29 | 29 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 31 | 31 | | 1 Chapter 6 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:- |

| 32 | 32 | | 2 Section 219. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, a state agency |

| 33 | 33 | | 3shall disclose to a state legislator or an authorized staff person of a state legislator, who is |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 4reaching out to the agency on behalf of a constituent, personal information about the constituent |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 5to the extent necessary for the state legislator or authorized staff person to provide assistance on |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 6the behalf of the constituent; provided, however, that the state agency shall not require an |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 7authorization for release of information from the constituent or state legislator unless otherwise |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 8required by federal law. |
