27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |
---|
29 | 29 | | 1 Section 3 of Chapter 25A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, |
---|
30 | 30 | | 2is hereby amended by striking out the definition of “Qualified RPS resources” and inserting in |
---|
31 | 31 | | 3place thereof the following definition:- |
---|
32 | 32 | | 4 “Qualified RPS resource”, a renewable energy generating source, as defined in |
---|
33 | 33 | | 5subsection (c) or subsection (d) of section 11F, that has: (i) installed a qualified energy storage |
---|
34 | 34 | | 6system at its facility; or (ii) commenced operation on or after January 1, 2019, provided, |
---|
35 | 35 | | 7however, that a qualified RPS resource that commenced operation prior to January 1, 2019 shall |
---|
36 | 36 | | 8be considered to have the commercial operation date of when the resource is co-located with a |
---|
37 | 37 | | 9qualified energy storage system that commenced operation after January 1, 2019 and having a |
---|
38 | 38 | | 10minimum nominal useful energy capacity of not less than 25 per cent of the nameplate power |
---|
39 | 39 | | 11rating of the qualified RPS resource, or when the qualified RPS resource is contractually paired |
---|
40 | 40 | | 12with a qualified energy storage system that commenced operation after January 1, 2019 and 2 of 2 |
---|
41 | 41 | | 13having a minimum nominal useful energy capacity of not less than 25 per cent of the nameplate |
---|
42 | 42 | | 14power rating of the qualified RPS resource for 4 hours. |
---|
