| 29 | 29 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 142K of Chapter 111, as appearing in the 2022 version of the |

| 30 | 30 | | 2General Laws, is hereby amended by inserting after the second paragraph the following:- |

| 31 | 31 | | 3 “Notwithstanding the adoption of California emissions standards under this section, a |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 4vehicle used for the maintenance or repair of public and utility infrastructure including but not |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 5limited to electricity, water, gas, telecommunications, and sewage systems shall be exempt from |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 6this section.” |

| 35 | 35 | | 7 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage. |
