The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court (2025-2026) _______________ An Act relative to private detectives and private investigators. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Section 30A of chapter 90 of the General Laws is hereby amended by 2inserting after the term “policies,” the following words:- 3 private detectives and private investigators as defined in section 22 of chapter 147 and 4licensed in accordance with section 25 of chapter 147, 5 SECTION 2. Section 30 of chapter 147 is hereby amended by adding the following two 6paragraphs:- 7 12. Use computer data or equipment under the control of the registrar of motor vehicles 8in accordance with section 30A of chapter 90 for any purpose inconsistent with (2) of section 22 9of chapter 147. 10 13.
