The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court (2025-2026) _______________ An Act relative to motor vehicle inspections. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Section 2 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 2Official Edition, is hereby amended, in line 400, by inserting after the word “registration”, the 3first time it appears, the following:- 4 “; provided, however, that the registrar shall immediately suspend the registration of a 5motor vehicle or trailer if its inspection sticker has been expired for more than 60 days, pursuant 6to the provisions of section 7A” 7 SECTION 2. Section 7A of said chapter 90, as so appearing, is hereby amended by 8inserting at the end of the first paragraph the following:- 9 “The registration issued to any motor vehicle or trailer which has been operating for more 10than 60 days with an expired inspection sticker shall be immediately suspended by the registrar 11until such time as the motor vehicle or trailer is properly inspected and passes its inspection.”
