28 | 28 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
29 | 29 | | of the same, as follows: |

30 | 30 | | 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 6C of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, |
---|
31 | 31 | | 2is hereby amended by inserting at the end of Section 31 the following:- |
---|
32 | 32 | | 3 Section 31A. The office of planning and programming shall provide a sample sign, to be |
---|
33 | 33 | | 4approved by the general manager. Such sign shall be not less than eight and one-half inches high |
---|
34 | 34 | | 5and eleven inches wide containing the following notice: |
---|
35 | 35 | | 6 “WARNING. Obtaining forced labor or services is a crime under Massachusetts law. If |
---|
36 | 36 | | 7you or someone you know is being forced to engage in any activity and cannot leave – whether it |
---|
37 | 37 | | 8is commercial sex, housework, farm work or any other activity – call the National Human |
---|
38 | 38 | | 9Trafficking Hotline: 1-888-373-7888. You can remain anonymous, and the Hotline is available |
---|
39 | 39 | | 1024 hours a day, seven days a week.” 2 of 2 |

40 | 40 | | 11 Such notice shall be provided in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Portuguese, |
---|
41 | 41 | | 12and any other language as recommended by the office of planning and programming, whereby |
---|
42 | 42 | | 13the English notice must cover at least one-half of the sign, to display in all state highway and |
---|
43 | 43 | | 14mass transit facilities and vehicles that are open to the public, including restrooms, in a |
---|
44 | 44 | | 15conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public and employees. |
---|
45 | 45 | | 16 (b) The office of planning and programming shall periodically, and at least annually, |
---|
46 | 46 | | 17consult with the attorney general as to whether a sample sign pursuant to subsection (a) shall be |
---|
47 | 47 | | 18provided in any other language. |
---|
