The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court (2025-2026) _______________ An Act relative to new vehicle inspections. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 Section 7A of Chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, 2is hereby amended by inserting after the word “registration” the following:- 3 “; provided, however, that for motor vehicles one model year old or less, the registrar 4shall require that the initial maintenance inspection mandated by this paragraph be valid for a 5period of two years, at which point the vehicle may receive two subsequent maintenance 6inspections that will be valid for periods of 2 years each.”
