An Act relative to new vehicle inspections.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Section 7A of Chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, 
2is hereby amended by inserting after the word “registration” the following:-
3 “; provided, however, that for motor vehicles one model year old or less, the registrar 
4shall require that the initial maintenance inspection mandated by this paragraph be valid for a 
5period of two years, at which point the vehicle may receive two subsequent maintenance 
6inspections that will be valid for periods of 2 years each.”
